111th Grey Cup QB Comparison
Winnipeg looks to get it's 3rd championship in 5 seasons, all of which with Zach Collaros under centre. Toronto's Nick Arbuckle will get the emergency start after the Chad Kelly injury.
And then there were two. The Grey Cup is here and will be more exciting than ever as we get a rematch of the 2022 Grey Cup. With the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Toronto Argonauts.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers: Zach Collaros
Zach Collaros has been “that guy” for Winnipeg all five years there. He's led them to the Grey Cup all 5 years, and looks to win his 3rd tonight. After the Bombers 0-4 start, their season seemed doomed. When they were 2-6 almost halfway through the season, we thought the dynasty was over, but no. They're back at the biggest stage in football, looking to win the best trophy on earth. Zach threw for 4336 yards this season. He also threw 17 touchdowns to 15 interceptions. He started the season with a 0-4 rate in the first five games. But, he bounced back, and in the West Final last week, he had 4 touchdowns and 301 yards on just 19 completions. Zach definitely has been great lately and looks to add one more win to the season.
Toronto Argonauts: Nick Arbuckle
The Argos were put in a tough spot late in the third when Chad Kelly broke his tibia. Nick Arbuckle had to come in relief to close out the game, which he barely did, sealing the 30-28 win. He went 5/8 for 73 yards. In the regular season he was 65/100 for 799 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions. The last time he has thrown more touchdowns than interceptions was in 2019. In 2021 he had 5 touchdowns and 6 picks, in 2022 he had 6 and 14, in 2023 he had no touchdowns and 4 interceptions. He did snap that streak this year though with 1 more touchdown than pick.
Advantage: Winnipeg
Zach Collaros is easily a hall of famer, and he has plenty of Grey Cup experience while Nick has never played a Grey Cup.
Final Prediction: Winnipeg 38 - Toronto 28
