The Morehead State Eagles are headed to the Big Dance.
The #3 Morehead State Eagles have won the OVC (Ohio Valley Conference) and are headed to March Madness after a win over the #1 Little Rock Trojans at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana. The championship was not close, with a final of 69-55. OVC Tournament MVP Riley Minix led Morehead State with 26 points and 7 rebounds. Drew Thelwell helped Minix with 21 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists.
Bradley Douglas led Little Rock with 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist.
With the win, MSU is now 26-8 on the season, and Little Rock is now 21-12.
Next Sunday is Selection Sunday when we will find out who Morehead State will play in the first round.
These seedings (#3 and #1) are their conference tournament seeds, not NCAA rankings. In the JCU vs. Calvin game, those rankings were the NCAA rankings.
But sadly App State is headed home after a heartbreaking lucky shot.
