I know the Grey Cup was two weeks ago, but I could not talk about it. I was so mad and sad at the same time as a big Bombers fan. It was not a great second half for the Bombers of the Blue, but I got to give Montreal credit. They played a great game. And congratulations to the Grey Cup MVP Cody Fajardo, and the Most Outstanding Canadian of the 110th Grey Cup, Tyson Philpot.

We should start with defence because these are the two best defensive teams. Even in the 47-17 loss for the Als in this matchup earlier this year, they still had 3 interceptions in the first half. Winnipeg only had two sacks in this game, one by Shayne Gauthier and the other by Willie Jefferson. Mike Benson forced a fumble that was recovered by Brandon Alexander, and an interception by Evan Holm. Montreal had driven down to the goal line, but Winnipeg stopped them on first, second, and third down to force the turnover on downs. Montreal had four sacks, one by four different players. Darnell Sankey, Reggie Stubblefield, Mustafa Johnson, and Shawn Lemon had sacks for the Birds. Kabion Ento also had an interception for the Alouettes, and Ciante Evans forced a fumble that Kabion Ento recovered.
On offence, Montreal won this battle somehow. Cody Fajardo was 21/26 with 290 yards 3 touchdowns, and that one interception. That is an 80.76 completion percentage. Zach Collaros was just 19/23 with 236 yards and zero touchdowns. He also had a very high completion percentage of 82.61. Brady Olivera had 119 rushing yards and one touchdown for Winnipeg. Dakota Prukop also had 2 rushing touchdowns to lead the way for the Blue Bombers. Kenny Lawler had 77 receiving yards, and Nic Demski had 74 receiving yards. William Stanback had 68 rushing yards, including one touchdown. Austin Mack had 103 yards, and Tyson Philpot had 63 yards including the game-winning touchdown with 16 seconds left.
Montreal was losing most of the game, but they kept it close. Winnipeg had the ball, winning by 3 with around two minutes left, but they could not get a first down, so they punted. Montreal had a 3rd & 5 near midfield and threw a deep ball, and it somehow got caught for a fist down with less than a minute left. Then with 16 seconds left, they threw the ball to wide-open Tyson Philpot for a game-winning touchdown. It was super sad for me, but good for the Alouettes and their fans.
whomp whomp cry about it
