High Point Wins Big South To Clinch Their First Ever March Madness Bid
High Point wins 81-69 over Winthrop to clinch an auto-bid.
Winthrop had a 93.6% chance to win and led by as many as 15 points, but failed to get the job done on Sunday as they fell to High Point 81-69.
5 players had double digit points for Winthrop. Kelton Telford led with 15, KJ Doucet and Kaden Harrison had 10, and Nick Johnson and Bryce Baker scored 11.
Bobby Pettiford Jr. led both teams in scoring for High Point with 17, Kezza Giffa had 16, and Abdoulaye Thiam had 12. Trae Benham had 10 rebounds and 8 points also.
High Point will find out who they play Sunday during the NCAA Selection Show.
