Kyle McCord To Enter NFL Draft (Report)
The QB was originally planning on trying to get another year of eligibility.
Syracuse Orange quarterback Kyle McCord announced that he is declaring the NFL draft. He originally was hoping for another year of eligibility for college.
McCord was the nations leading passer this season with 4,779 yards. He threw 34 touchdowns and 12 interceptions this year, with 5 of those coming in an off-game versus Pitt. He broke DeShawn Watson’s ACC passing record, Syracuse’s single season yards, touchdowns, and completions records. He led ‘CUSE to their first 10 win season since 2018, and with the help of head coach Fran Brown, he rebirthed the golden era of Syracuse football.
His decision to enter the draft completed what he called a “crazy ride” of a college football career. He went 22-4 as a starter at both Ohio State and Syracuse. He went 11-1 at Ohio State last year, but Ohio State fans shunned him away after losing to Michigan. Fran Brown then called him up, asked if he was in Columbus which he was. Fran Brown then flew to Columbus from upstate New York to meet with him. After some time and thinking he made it official. He then had a historic season and won Syracuse a bowl game. In that bowl game he threw 5 touchdowns, 453 yards, and 0 interceptions.
He and his coaches believe that he has what it takes at the NFL level, so his fate is up to the draft. Just remember McCord beat Ward in college so just wait for the NFL.
