Riders Ready To Sign AJ Ouellette

AJ Ouellette, star RB for regular season champs the Argos last year, looks to lead Saskatchewan far this year.

Dave Naylor from TSN reported that AJ Ouellette has a deal set with the Riders. AJ Ouellette was ranked 7th in the CFL’s top 30 free agents.

The 28-year-old has spent all of his four-year CFL career with the Argos. IN 2023, he had a career-best 1,009 yards on 178 carries, an average of about 5.67 yards per carry, and had 8 TDs. He also had 16 receptions for 163 yards and 2 more TDs. Ouellette was a big part of their offence, so big that he even threw a touchdown to Dejon Brisset on a trick play on Labour Day in their win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

His Argonauts tied a CFL record with 16 wins, at 16-2. But they lost to the Grey Cup champs the Montreal Alouettes in the east final.

AJ was an East All-Star in 2022 and 2023, and a big part of their Grey Cup win in 2022.
