Rolan Milligan Jr Wins Most Outstanding Defensive Player At Awards Show
The Riders star dominated the CFL and led the best defence in the league.
Rolan Milligan Jr. was named the CFL’s best defensive player last night at the CFL awards. Milligan had 11 defensive plays this year, 5th overall. He also had a career high 8 interceptions to lead the league. He had 71 defensive tackles to shape his award winning season.
“I’m still shaking. I don’t know, it was a surreal moment when they called my name,” Milligan Jr. told reporters. “Just a rush of emotions and I’ve still kind of got them right now. I’m just trying to come back down from it. But it feels great just getting the recognition for all the work I’ve put in. Coming from the injury and then just becoming a new version of myself, a better version of myself this season.”
Saskatchewan lost in the West Final to Winnipeg last Saturday 38-22.
