Samford Wins SoCon For First Time Ever To Reach March Madness
The Samford Bulldogs have defeated the East Tennessee State Buccaneers (ETSU) 76-69 to win SoCon in first ever SoCon finals appearance.
On Monday, the #1 Samford Bulldogs defeated the #7 East Tennessee State Buccaneers 76-69 to reach the final stage. ETSU spread out their scoring to 9 different players, while Samford had 7 players score, 3 of them posting double-digit points.
2 high-scoring players led Samford. First was Achor Achor who had 25 points, 9 rebounds, and 1 assist, and second was Jermaine Marshall who had 23 points, 8 rebounds, and 1 assist. Jaden Campbell had 11 points and 5 rebounds to complete the Bulldogs’ set of 10+ point players.
Ebby Asamoah played the entire game for ETSU, collecting 18 points, 1 assist, and 3 rebounds. Quimari Peterson had 17 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists. Jaden Seymour was a master on the glass collecting 11 rebounds to go with his 7 points and 1 assist.
Samford will find out who they play in the first round on Sunday.
