Toronto Turns The Tables To Reach Grey Cup Once Again
The Argos forced 6 turnovers to get revenge from last year’s East Final.
The Argos made the Grey Cup once again, but at a huge cost. Chad Kelly broke his tibia in the third quarter. Nick Arbuckle came in and had 73 yards on 5/8 passing.
Cody Fajardo was 27/42 passing with 330 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 2 picks. Both interceptions were to Benjie Franklin, one of which was taken back for a pick-six. Walter Fletcher had 69 rushing yards, but fumbled once. Kaion Julien-Grant, Austin Mack, and Fletcher both had a receiving touchdown. KJG had 93 receiving yards to go with it. Darnell Sankey and Najee Murray both picked off Chad Kelly.
Chad Kelly was 11/22 with 182 yards, a touchdown, and those two picks before his injury. Ka’Deem Carey ran for 92 yards including a long of 49 yards to lead the offence. Damonte Coxie had 105 yards and a touchdown on 5 catches. Makai Polk had 72 yards, and Janarion Grant had 57 yards. Grant took a punt return 71 yards to the house to help out the Argos. Liram Hajrullahu was 3/3 on both field goals and extra points.
Overall, this game was very defence heavy with 8 total turnovers, 4 Montreal fumbles, and 2 interceptions each.
Toronto has landed in Vancouver and started practicing for the Grey Cup against Winnipeg on Sunday.
