Matchup 1: BC Lions 0 - 25 Winnipeg Blue Bombers
The Bombers are looking like the team they've been for the last 4 years, and I have a very long post that I've been working on for months (there's been a long break because of my website being blocked) about how good this team has been in the last four years. This game was an all around amazing game for the Blue Bombers. Zach Collaros had 295 passing yards on 27/33 passing for 1 touchdown. Brady Oliveria had 100 rushing yards exactly, and Sergio Castillo was as good as a kicker can be. He went 6/6 on field goals, and made the extra point. He set the CFL record for most 60 yard field goals in a career. He has 2, both of which are this season. Ontaria Wilson had 112 receiving yards, and Luck Whitehead caught a touchdown in his first game back with the Bombers in 5 years, and against his former team in BC. Adam Bighill and Willie Jefferson both had a sack for the Bombers, and Tyrell Ford picked off Vernon Adams Jr.
BC on the other hand, did not play well and was stiffled by the Bombers great play. Vernon Adams Jr did not have the magic in him that he had last year in early October. VA was just 8/17 with just 74 passing yards, and the interception to Tre Ford's twin brother Tyrell. BC was held to just 43 rushing yards, Adams Jr with 1 of them and William Stanback with the other 42. Terry Williams who is usually a very dangerous kick returner was held to just 22 return yards on 3 returns.
Matchup 2: Montreal Alouettes 33 - 16 Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Davis Alexander had a pretty good game as he took the starting role due to Cody Fajardo's injury. He went 19/27 for 262 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Caleb Evans went 1-1 for a 39 yard touchdown. For Hamilton, Bo Levi Mitchell continued to struggle with his interception problem with two more interceptions to only one touchdown. He had 250 passing yards on 29 completions. James Butler ran for 69 yards but had no touchdowns.
Matchup 3: Edmonton Elks 42 - 31 Saskatchewan Roughriders
TRE FORD. I've been telling you readers all season that the Elks made a mistake starting McLeod Bethel-Thompson, and Tre proved me right, getting the first win of the season for the Elks after taking over the starting spot mid season again. Tre Ford impressed passing 18/22 with 252 yards, 2 touchdowns to 1 interception, a long of 93 yards on a 93 yard touchdown to Tevin Jones. He also rushed for 46 yards. Javon Leake rushed for 169 yards and 3 touchdowns! Tevin Jones couch both passes and had 123 yards on 3 receptions. Boris Bede went 2/2 on field goals, and made 4/5 extra points. The most amazing part of this game for Edmonton was they were against the best rush defence in the league. Shea Patterson had a pretty good game with 306 passing yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception. Frankie Hickson ran for 89 yards to lead the Riders into he running game. Ajou Ajou had 60 receiving yards and a touchdown for Saskatchewan. Ajou Ajou had 8 targets but only 3 completions in a mix of bad passes and bad catching.
Matchup 4: Toronto Argonauts 23 - 27 Calgary Stampeders
Another huge upset took place in this game as the Argos were winning 23-6 going into the fourth quarter, but the Stampeder rallied back to score 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to win the game. Cameron Dukes had 177 yards, 1 touchdown, and one interception. Dukes also had 95 rushing yards, including one rushing touchdown. Ka'Deem Carey ran for 31 yards and 1 more touchdown. Jake Maier had 287 yards with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. René Paredes went 4/4 on field goals and 2/2 on PATs with his longest field goal being 51 yards.
Player Of The Week: Tre Ford/ Javon Leake
I couldn’t choose between them so they both get it.
