Wofford Stuns Furhman To Win SoCon As The 6 Seed And Clinch An Auto-Bid
Coming into the SoCon tournament at 16-15, no one expected this 6 seed to win it all.
Wofford has stunned the entire SoCon Conference as the 19-15 team has won the conference championship against 25-9 Furhman by a score of 92-85. Trailing by two at halftime, they had to adjust, and they did just that, winning the second half 55-46 to fuel the 7-point win.
Jackson Sivills led the Terriers with 20 points, followed closely by Justin Bailey who scored 19 points and had 7 rebounds. Dillon Bailey, Kyler Filewich, and Corey Tripp all had 10+ points also with 15, 13, and 11 respectively.
PJay Smith led both teams in scoring for Furhman with 27 points and 7 assists. Nick Anderson scored 15, Garrett Hien scored 13, and Cooper Bowser scored 11 points to add on for Furhman.
As of right now (March 10th, 11:25 PM) ESPN Bracketology isn’t updated with Wofford, but currently projects Furhman as a 15 seed against Michigan State. Wofford will find out who they play on Sunday during the selection show.
