Matchup 1: Ottawa Redblack 31 - 29 Calgary Stampeders
It wasn't the prettiest of wins for the Redbacks, but in the end they came out on top. Jeremiah Masoli's return wasn't spectacular, but it was enought to win. With 254 yards in the air with one touchdown on 27/35 passing, Masoli had a good game to lead Ottawa's game winning drive late. Ryquell Armstead had 120 rushing yards and a touchdown for the Redblacks to add on to his 44 receiving yards. Lewis Ward went 3/3 on field goal attempts, including the game winner as time expired. For Calgary, Jake Maier had 269 yards on 24 completions but no touchdowns or picks. Tommy Stevens had 3 rushing touchdowns for the stamps, but only 10 rushing yards. Rene Paredes went 2/2 on field goals, and made all 3 extra points.
Matchup 2: Montréal Alouettes 27 - 24 Saskatchewan Roughriders
I though Sergio Castillo's field goal problem was bad, good thing I'm not a Riders fan otherwise I think I'd explode after this game. The kicker for the Riders Brett Lauther went a horrific 3/7 on field goals, if he would have made just one more, Saskatchewan wins this game. That kick would have to be the kick that the Allouettes took back 128 yards the other way for a touchdown though. Trevor Harris came back from his 8njury and played great, 355nyards on 31/39 passing for 2 touchdowns to be exact. AJ Ouellette ran for another 77 yards. The offence and defence were not the problem in this loss, it was Brett Lauther himself. Davis Alexander had 22 completed passes for 285 yards and 1 touchdown. He also ran for 33 yards and a touchdown.
Matchup 3: Edmonton Elks 47 - 22 Hamilton Tiger-Cats
This game was a showcase of the two worst teams record whose, but it did not disappoint. This game was very exciting if you are a fan of any team but the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. McLeod Bethel-Thompson had his best games of the season with 234 yards and 2 touchdowns. Justin Rankin had the game of his life with 3 touchdowns and 108 yards. Javon Leake also ran for a touchdown and 12 yards for the Elks. This win gives the city of Edmonton their first 3 game win streak in 6 years. 3 quarterbacks played for Hamilton in this game. Bo Levi Mitchell played the most with 294 yards, 1 touchdown, and 2 interceptions on 23/34 passing. Harrison Frost went 8/12 with 95 yards and a touchdown. Taylor Powell lastly went 2/3 for 20 yards. Greg Bell ran for 85 yards and one touchdown to lead the Ticats in the running game.
Matchup 4: Winnipeg Blue Bombers 20 - 11 BC Lions
Rourke Return Ruined By Rowdy Bombers Defence
The defence from the Winnipeg Blue Bombers has been on point in the last 2 games against BC, only allowing 11 total points across the 8 quarters. Tyrell Ford and Deatrick Nichols both picked off BC's newly signed QB Nathan Rourke. Rourke was under pressure all game long. He only took two sacks, but was just 8/25 passing. That's 32%. He had no touchdowns…
The BC touchdown scored in this game was with 2 second left. If Winnipeg denied the touchdown, they would have gone 8 straight quarter without giving up a touchdown.
Player Of The Week: Justin Rankin
Game Of The Week: Winnipeg Blue Bombers @ BC Lions
I honestly think this game could've been 1-0 of 800-0 and still be game of the week. It's Nathan Rourke's return to the CFL, the rematch of a 25-0 Winnipeg win two weeks ago, and it's the tiebreaker game between the two teams. So now if BC and Winnipeg end thenseason with the same record, Winnipeg has the higher seed over BC
